We have had the pleasure of working with Tailored Living on four residential projects to date.  Recently we completed one in Surrey where we were responsible for crafting a number of the key pieces - including the Formal Dining Table, Family Dining Table, and Cinema.

The following video by Move iQ is about Tailored Living's stunning project and features some of our work.

Oak and Brass Mosaic Cabinet

This project was truly a labour of love!
Over 11000 hand-applied oak blocks to create the mosaic sections.  Then the cubes that had taken endless hours to place were burned carefully to create a charred effect.

“The cabinets are absolutely spectacular. They are masterpieces and we are thrilled with them.  I know they have been a headache for Andrea but please tell him that we are absolutely over the moon. The workmanship is extraordinary.”
Private Client Holland Park, London.

Thanks to PDDM for the opportunity to create these set of cabinets.

Introducing Felice James

We are very proud of the Collection we have created with Interior Designer Rebecca James. Here are few selected images of the collection.
Full details can be found on the designated website www.FeliceJames.com

Our partnership is borne out of our mutual passion for Art deco and mid-century Italian design. Having worked together on a number of private commissions since 2012, Andrea and Rebecca decided to create a collection, which fuses Rebecca’s glamorous aesthetic with Andrea’s modern industrial flair and craftsmanship. The collection is designed to be fluid and balanced with sensual curves akin to the female form.

Finding the right balance and interplay of materials has been essential for their collection. The use of Corian has stemmed from Andrea’s love of Bakelite (both from its industrial heritage and popular use for designer jewellery in the 1920s by likes of Coco Chanel). The Corian gives a modern alternative to the Bakelite, and emulates its lustre and feel. Blackened oak gives the pieces softness and adds an organic element.
Brass - both solid and liquid - adds the contrast to the two darker materials.
Each piece is crafted in our Dulwich London studio and is signed and numbered, guaranteeing its provenance. These timeless and elegant conversation pieces will feel at home in both modern and classical settings.

Vauxhall Warehouse Penthouse

Working closely with Foster Lomas Architects we have had the pleasure of working on this amazing space. Transforming the top level of a  Warehouse into a contemporary home.  Andrea Felice were responsible for many items of the furniture, but the highlight of this project was the Kitchen.

The kitchen cabinet doors and panels have been constructed from ribbed Oak that we applied a Shou Sugi Ban finish to, each piece of oak was individually burned and oiled to ensure a regular patina across the entire kitchen.

The kitchen features a custom made 3.6m x 1.5m aluminium panel with a bespoke water jet relief which has been aged with a dark patina.  The panel raises using a  counterweights to reveal the main galley of the kitchen.

The 5.5m polygonal Island and main galley have been clad in Nero Assoluto Granite and the Island has a custom made Nero Assoluto sink.

All drawers automatically open by touch via electric actuators and sensors.  Even the dishwasher opens with two knocks.

Borough Market Mid-century inspired

Working closely with Foster Lomas Architects we throughly enjoyed working on the home of this artist and curator.  Her passion for design and love of mid-century furniture allowed for a wide range of materials and techniques to be involved in this project

The Kitchen combined many textures, with bespoke door and drawer fronts constructed from strips of solid oak and the worktop from giant oak "butchers blocks".

The considerable structure remodelling of the house meant for crafting fitted furniture to fit some very unusual and tricky spaces.  The oak bookcase was a good example of the precision of our studio in dealing with such spaces.

The client wanted very mid-century inspired wardrobes to match her furniture collection.  For these Andrea Felice created then tall Maple robes, with steam bent arcs in the corners.
A hand applied treatment was then applied to the wood to give it the hues of a mid-century piece.

Lastly the bathroom took on a completely different feel, and was inspired by a Scandinavian sauna.  The whole of the bathroom was clad using Ceder.

Fulham London

We had the great pleasure of working with Interior Desires (UK) Ltd on this high-end house refurbishment in Fulham.

All the furniture commissioned used a mixture of solid and veneer hardwoods, with metal detailing.

Kitchen
The oak woodwork we tinted with a hand applied Mylands stain.  The colour was created bespoke for Andrea - and hence this is now referred to as "Andrea's Grey"

Bi-folding Doors
Constructed to separate the lounge area from the kitchen and be a feature, these doors are very large.   Crafted from Oak, with custom brass glazing bars and inlays, and the bottom panels featuring inserts from patina bronze.

Wardrobes
Constructed from solid and veneer maple, and the wardrobes are adorned with brass inlays and leather handles.

Bedside Tables
Two simple but elegant bedside tables were crafted to match perfectly with the Wardrobes.  Each feature a single drawer with an inlay of brass on the front.

Tumbled Bookcase - Chalk Farm, London

For this commission from a residential client in Chalk Farm we were asked to create a library bookcase system with a bit of a difference.

For our client Andrea designed a series of bookcase boxes that interlock and connect and angles - making it look like the shelving system has literally tumbled down. With one of the boxes seeming to pass through the mezzanine floor.

These are just some quick snaps from installation day - more formal photos to come with the library full!
